The Greensboro Community
Bike Shop at Barber Park
The Greensboro Community Bike Shop at Barber Park was formed in April 2022.
Our mission includes:
Sustainability - Keeping bicycles out of the landfill by repairing or recycling them
Public Health - Provide people with free bicycles to use when needed
Workforce Development - Providing repaired bicycles through social service providers
Education - Teach everyone to fix their own bicycles and to ride safely
Volunteerism - We work with our many volunteers on a variety of endeavors
The Greensboro Community Bike Shop at Barber Park was founded upon 4 main principles:
Good works and charity should serve a greater community purpose.
We achieve more by working cooperatively and collectively in equal partnerships.
We all work within our specialized skills while learning from each other.
We work in a spirit of experimentation, constant testing of technologies, and innovation.
